FAADV DERMATOPATHOLOGY EXAMINATION 2026

PROGRAMME ANNOUNCEMENT & INSTRUCTIONS

1. PURPOSE OF THE EXAMINATION

The 8th FAADV Fellowship Examination in Dermatopathology will be held in conjunction with RCD2026 in Hanoi.

The examination is an international certification examination designed to assess candidates in:

• Written dermatopathology knowledge
• Histopathological slide interpretation
• Clinical–pathological correlation
• Oral/viva examination and diagnostic reasoning

The examination continues FAADV and ASD’s commitment to strengthening dermatopathology training and standards in Vietnam and across Asia. The first time the examination was held in Vietnam was 2014,  Danang. in conjunction with the 21^st RCD.

2. EXAMINATION DATE & VENUE

Date: Wednesday, 11 November 2026
Venue: National Hospital of Dermatology and Venereology
Address: Building D, 15A Phuong Mai Street, Hanoi, Vietnam

The examination will utilise separate examination areas for the written/slide components and the oral/viva component, according to the final local room allocation.

3. EXAMINATION DAY PROGRAMME

The oral/viva component will be conducted only for candidates who fulfil the requirements for progression to this component.

4. BOARD OF EXAMINERS

The examination will involve international FAADV/dermatopathology examiners together with the Vietnamese local representative.

5. CANDIDATE FEES

The standard examination fee is:

US$300 per candidate

(A reduced fee is applicable for candidates from Vietnam)

6. INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

Candidates are requested to:

1. Report to the examination venue by 8:00 am for registration.
2. Bring the necessary personal identification/documentation required for registration.
3. Follow all instructions given by the examiners and invigilators.
4. Observe strict examination-room procedures during the written and slide examinations.
5. Maintain confidentiality regarding all examination questions, slides and materials.
6. Candidates progressing to the oral/viva component should remain available for the afternoon session.
7. Candidates should not leave the examination area without permission during an active examination component.
